My thesis research aimed to determine if spacer fabric in active apparel increased user comfort in weighted situations, specifically rock climbing.
Spacer Knit fabrics consist of 3 layers: front, back, and a middle layer. This middle layer is often used to create cushioning, bulk, or a pocket in the fabric. It is often seen in seat cushioning, backpack mesh, and other cushion based applications.
